Parish Social Ministry

The Social Ministry Coordinating Team strives to live Gospel values and invites others to become more responsible in helping create a more loving and just society.  Monthly meetings are times of prayer, education, sharing and discerning how Blessed Sacrament parish can involve all parishioners in some form of outreach, prayer, study, or advocacy concerning the Themes of Catholic Social Teaching.

Meetings are held on the first Monday of each month at 7:00pm to 8:30pm in the Parish Center.  If you have a passion for involving people in the Church’s mission to help those in need; to end racism, poverty, prejudice; to work for peace and justice; to create solidarity among people of the world; to care for God’s creation; to respect the human dignity of all people – then this is the place for you.

To learn more about this ministry please contact our Parish coordinator, Pat Lyons, (912) 547-3227  (Email: patl8642@gmail.com)

Involvement in Social Ministry is part of living out our Baptism, the Beatitudes, and the Corporal and Spiritual Works of Mercy.  The coordinating team is also looking for new members with insight and leadership who can expand the horizons of Blessed Sacrament’s Social Ministry.  The term of commitment is determined by each member himself/herself.
